Bourbonanza is Frankfort's signature bourbon event in the cradle of bourbon country.   

Friday October 13

SPIRITS SOIREE at the Kentucky History Center

7pm-10pm / 21+ over / Cocktail Attire

Local distilleries, wineries, & breweries will feature samples of some of their most popular products along with live music by the Marlin McKay Group and Stirfry Musette, hors d’oeuvres by 3 Peas in a Pod catering and samplings of “Kentucky Proud” products.  The highlight of the evening is a live auction of rare bourbons signed by master distillers (Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year, Col. E. H. Taylor Four Grain, George T. Stagg 138.1 proof, William Larue Weller 134.6 proof, Elmer T. Lee, Knob Creek 25th Anniversary, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Jim Beam Master Distillers Bottle in a leather case). Revelers can continue celebrating at various after parties around downtown. Tickets are $50 per person or $75 per couple. The event is limited to 500 people. Doors open at 6:30pm.

SPIRITS STROLL on St. Clair Street in historic downtown Frankfort

Bourbonanza will continue the next day with the SPIRITS STROLL on Saturday from 11am to 7pm in the heart of downtown on St. Clair between West Main and Broadway. Local distilleries, wineries and breweries will be serving libations.  There will be food, live music and bourbon- themed demonstrations.  Local downtown businesses will provide bourbon and spirit-themed events and merchandise.  Two free VIP tours at Buffalo Trace will board the trolley at 11:00 and 2:00.

2-4pm / Poor Richard's Books - Bourbon Book Authors Susan Reigler and Michael Veach will be available between 2-4 pm on Saturday. Bourbon authority, Veach, explains in Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey: An American Heritage how bourbon went from "low-brow to top shelf." Reigler, Executive Bourbon Steward and President of The Bourbon Women Association, has created Kentucky Bourbon Country: The Essential Travel Guide.  Beautifully illustrated this is a tale of bourbon legends as well as history.  She has also authored several "Bourbon Cocktail" recipe books.
